WUELS Faculty of Biology and Animal Science

The university has its origins in the University of Breslau Institute of Agriculture, which opened on Mattiaplatz in 1881. The Institute moved to Hansastrasse in 1923, which remains the main building of the university to this day. Higher education in Wrocław was entirely restructured in 1945 to form the State University and Polytechnic.
